Collection: SHŌUJO (YOUNG WOMEN)

Shōujo (少女, Japanese for 'young girl', also commonly spelled as 'Shojo') is a demographic term for anime and manga aimed at teenage girls. These stories usually (though not always) have female leads and have a strong emphasis on romance and personal growth. Many magical girl stories (like Sailor Moon) are Shōjo.

The aesthetics in Shōjo anime and manga tend to be quite distinct from Shōnen. Less shading, larger eyes, and greater use of screentone patterns are commonly used.
