Akiba Kissa was the first manga café in Ontario (it was based in Markham, ON).

We are the first manga café in the City of Toronto.

A café where you can read manga.

They are a staple in Japan, but these novelty cafés are starting to pop up worldwide.

Paid street parking and paid parking lots are available if you are driving.

If you live in or near the Danforth area, you can buy our surplus pastries and sandwiches when they are available on Too Good to Go.

We have not compiled a full list of every title in our collection.

Please note that our library of donated manga volumes is available for in-store reading only and none of the used volumes are for sale.

Unlike manga cafes in Japan, there are no reading or entrance fees.

Reading is free for all customers, so we do encourage you to try our delicious food and beverages during your stay with us before picking up a volume.

Yes, we accept donations of used manga, light novels, art books, and even anime figurines.

In exchange, we offer discounts off your in-store order! Please ask our staff or read the details on the following posts on Facebook and Instagram.

Please note we do not offer cash in exchange, store credit only. We also no longer offer gift cards in exchange.

All items must be in good or decent condition. The café has the right to turn away any items that are not in decent condition.

None of the donated items will be put up for sale.

Yes, we are also a bookstore!

We have a selection of manga, light novels, art books, and more available for sale in-store and online.

Yes, we do! You can purchase them using the links below:

Gift cards can be used for purchases from our online store only.

Gift certificates are for in-store purchases. Can be redeemed for anything in-store including food and beverages. Must be printed out and presented to staff.

No, we do not currently have a landline. We reply to all inquiries via e-mail.

However, you can request a callback when you contact us, and one of our managers will be in touch.
